Slasher is a genre of film that has been made by many different directors. This is due to a number of things, firstly these sorts of films do not necessarily need an intense storyline and plot, so therefore are quite easy to make. It is also because as mentioned before, a slasher film can become iconic and last in peoples minds for years to come.
Many emerging directors create slasher films, such as Rob Zombie, also due to these reasons, but at the same time they have been created by big institutions and famous directors.
Therefore, I conclude that this kind of film can be made by anybody.
